YOUR KITCHEN, ON YOUR HOME SCREEN

Take your Recipe Book with you

Open your cookbooks, grocery lists, and meal calendar straight from your home screen. Use your existing account—your recipes stay together on all your devices.

Choose your device below to install. No App Store or Google Play download is needed.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Open recipes.fishman01.com in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button (the square with an upward arrow). Depending on your Safari layout, you may need to open the menu first.
  3. Scroll through the actions and tap Add to Home Screen. If it is missing, use Edit Actions to add it.
  4. Keep the name Recipe Book. If Open as Web App appears, leave it on, then tap Add.
  5. Tap the Recipe Book icon on your home screen and sign in if asked.

Safari provides the installation steps above. You can keep using Chrome for normal browsing.

Android

  1. Open recipes.fishman01.com in Chrome.
  2. Tap Install Recipe Book above if it appears. Otherwise, open Chrome’s three-dot menu and choose Add to Home screen or Install app.
  3. Choose Install and confirm. The wording can vary with your browser version.
  4. Open the Recipe Book icon and sign in if asked.

If the install option is missing, refresh the site, use a regular Chrome tab instead of an incognito tab, and check that the app is not already installed.

Using your app

Use the same email and password you use on the website. You may need to sign in again after installing. Your recipes, favorites, categories, shopping lists, and meal calendar belong to that account.

The app stays updated with the website. An internet connection and the running Recipe Book server are required to load and save your information. Offline recipe access is not included in this version.

On a recipe, tap Keep screen awake while cooking. Keep the recipe visible and tap Turn off when finished.

To add recipes, use Add recipe and paste a URL or enter a recipe yourself. The Chrome recipe-import extension works on computers; installing this phone app does not add that extension to a mobile browser.
